Where can a 12-13 year old get a job?

Where can a 12-13 year old get a job. My cousin really wants a job to make money so he can go out with friends and hang out. He wants a job so he can buy clothes also.

Newspaper delivery is one of the few exceptions allowed by the child labor laws. I had a Star Ledger paper route in NJ when I was a kid. You definitely needed a bicycle with copious baskets. Sunday newspapers would have killed me, except my Dad helped out using the family station wagon on Sundays. Weekly collections were a hassle, but the tips made it worthwhile. Christmas time tips tended to be especially generous. Rain, sleet, snow or hail... The Ledger even publishes on holidays.

I didn't check into it, but give your local newspaper's circulation department a call to see if they still have kids making local deliveries.

Fondest memory for me was rather non-work related: Most Sundays after we finished the route, my Dad would stop at a bakery in Union Center and pick up fresh rolls. We'd go home from there and most Sundays, if it was cold, Mom would serve hot chocolate to go with the rolls.

well i think 12 and 13 year old students aren't allowed to work. but what i've done to earn money is like
baby sitting - you can get an hourly pay. i use to get payed $7/hour and saved quite alot of money in a month!

i helped out in my uncle's store. he owns a store and decided to help out by organizing the clothes & opening boxes when new items come in. it's an easy job and you get payed! if someone close to you owns a store or something, ask them if you can help out

pet sitting. just walking a dog, taking care for them for a couple of hours can get you around $20 an hour and by no time you'll have alot of money

You can't get a job yet because of child labor laws. You could do meaningless jobs for neighbors like mowing their lawn, dog-sit, house-sit, baby-sit, shovel snow, etc, or you could do chores for an allowance instead. You might be able to find a job when you're 15 if you're lucky.

Child labor laws - you have to be at least 15 in most states, with parents permission. A family owned small business like restaurant or dry cleaners maybe.

Yards, snow shoveling, and washing cars, paper routes - the way it's been done till you are old enough to work.

Who wants hire 12-13years ppl to work? Too young leh......Study hard and learn to earn money later....

Most people won't hire a 13 year old. To work most will hire when you are 16 some when they are 15.

paperboy, I used to deliver an afternoon paper on the weekdays and on the weekends it was in the morning.

Because of child labor laws, I would say mowing, landscaping, odd jobs for friends & neighbors.
