What is the sales tax in NYC, and does it apply to clothing and shoes? |
What is the sales tax in NYC, and does it apply to clothing and shoes? 8.375%, I think. It is divided between City and State sales tax. clothing and shoes under $110 per item are exempt from the sales tax. The City just passed a law exempting all clothes and shoes from the CITY tax, but they are still subject to the 4.25% STATE tax. 8.375 percent and yes, it applies to clothing and shoes. |
