How do you increase sales as a manager in a clothing outlet?

Decide how you want to merchandise. Do you think it's and easier for your customers to find what they want in size, colour blocking, or in stories.

For example, a customer may find a skirt looking through the skirts in her size. but if you had those particular skirts hanging next to co-ordinated blouses, and jackets, then maybe the customer would take those items as well.

Or you could merchandise in colour blocks, and then size in each block. You need to understand your customers and then merchandise according to what best suits their style of shopping.

You have asked a difficult question. So many factors. Is the merchandise in your windows, what is currently in demand. When customers walk in, are your top sellers placed alongside the path that your customers take when walking through the shop/store.

Do you have staff. Are they well trained. Do they know how to build a sale?

Do you ever do anything to promote the shopr/store in the local community. Ever thought of having a fashion show and asking a few regular customers to model for you, just for the fun of it. They'd love it, and they would also tell their friends to come along and watch.

People in shops always think that they have to wait for customers to come in. They just do not understand that you can actually get customers to come in. The difference between a manager and really good manager that is valuable to the company.

Don't sit and wait, you must be pro-active as well as re-active.
