What do NY street vendors use for power? |
How do street vendors in New York keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold? Do they use generators? Is electricity available on the street? btw I'm talking about the kind of vendors that use trailers and not hot dog guys. For cooking hot foods and keeping them hot, I'm pretty sure they use propane, since stenos would have to be replaced often during the day, whereas with propane, you just need to refill a can once in a while. As for keeping foods cold, the carts normally have an insulated area filled with ice. sternos for heat, dry ice for cool. Your right Generators! They use really long eletrical extension cords. LOL. Old fashion ice works well to keep things cold. Propane gas works well to heat things up. And, batteries are sufficient to run anything electrical needed.
