Hello. I'm french and i will go in Miami in november, and i never travel in Unites States before.

What sort of people live in Miami?

Miami is a great city. Like any other major city has high crime areas. You should avoid those. All you have to do is avoid where you see a lot of black people hanging out on the corners and Litlte Havana, they dont have many Cubans there any more is just filled with other types of people. You dont have a reason to go to those places anyways. Just ask the people at the hotel you are staying. They will point you in the right direction.
Miami, has a a big Cuban Community, they have some jewish people too But if you want to see a mix of people from all parts of the WORLD, this is the place to be. Dont expect to know where people are from, and you may find yourself in areas where people dont speak English, only Spanish. Expect to see a lot of Cuban restaurants (yummy) and night life. It could get very expensive if you stay by the beach. You can also get lost very easy, get a GPA. There is lots to do in South Beach, Coconut Grove, Bay Side (--- must sees Downtown (b careful),the Keys are awesome (ticky bar in Islamorada)(--- must see, Everglades, Hard Rock and Las Olas at night in Broward County (30 min away from the beach) You need to rent a car though.

I am from California state. I would like to recommend everyone to visit Florida state during November because the weather is nice. You can go to beach there because the water is warm. I was in Miami for 1 days. The Miami is large city, so I am unable to explain about there. I know there is a lot of Cuban people and Spanish speakers. That's all as I know. I hope that you will enjoy there. Smile...

i live in miami , born and raised, if I were you I wouldnt trust anyone, although we do have a high crime rate it doesnt mean you have to be paranoid about everything, not once has anythingthat bad happen to me. Some people are actually nice. Are you white? If you are be careful around the neighborhood of allapatah, ive been there before its a nice neighborhood, but they've been known too shoot a couple of white folks. The food is great and the beach is amazing except at times their are mosquitos infections and its not smart to go, but thats very rare to happen.Most people here are open to anything, so just be nice, dont trust that easily and you'll survive.anyother questions? The city is very diverse.
