MIAMI FL language issue?

I am transfering to FIU and will be living in Kendall. I have been hearing mixed things about the spanish and all that. I am transfering from my job over in Kendall and will be a Pharmacy Tech. Will this be a issue insince I don't know spanish? I have some friends there that say no but I dunno I think they are just saying it. Some are like yes and no but say I wanted to get another job wouldn't it be hard insince I don't speak spanish? I notice on post that some require spanish and some don't. Thanks alot

OK well I'm from broward county and have worked in dade county and in most of south FLA. its kinda hard to get away from not know a little Spanish. there are more ppl speaking Spanish in dade then broward and I'm surprised your work didn't say anything? so to answer you its not that's its a problem but it will help you in your daily activities and if you want to get a new job yes spanish out you one up from someone who dosent.
