Independent sales rep need help?

I just got a job as an independent sales rep in the fashion industry, selling watches. I have to meet up with retail buyers to try to sell watch. I found a couple of big account buyer that want me to send my information via email. But I need help putting together a perfect professional email. How should I start? What information should I put to pitch a good sale and close the deal? please help me!!!

You asked a great question that will face many independent sales and direct sales reps.

Unfortunately, putting together a great email campaign isn't something most think is needed so you will definitely be ahead of the game once you get this down.

I just recently put together on myself using a free ebook as a guide.

The suggestion someone made about having a website is a great suggestion is you can't start that yet, start with a blog. Just remember to purchase a dotcom for yourself (www.YOU.com) like www.donnaswatchdeals.com they range to about $10 for a whole year.

That way you can get a "professional" email address like: info@donnswatchdealscom when you send out your information.

Remember you are selling yourself first and foremost as an expert in your industry (even if your new) so you goal is to educate your customer through a series not sell them on a one time deal (or email).

Some will buy on the first email, others on the 7th or 15th email.

Ask A LOT of questions about your customers buying habits so you know what makes them buy from who ever they already have and what would make them consider a new vendor like you, etc.

They will basically tell you how to sell to them.

You will need to invest in whats called an "autoresponder" in order to do this in an automated way. That way you write the series once and every new email you plug in will follow the same processes 24/7.

Sincerely,
Malika Duke

I do not know. Sorry.///

Independent sales is a relationship industry. You will not close someone in one email, but your first email should introduce who you are, what you represent, and your contact information. The last thing you should include in the email is a time period in which you will contact them again; don鈥檛 mention a specific date, just that you will reach out to them in another 2 weeks. Sales is like planting a seed: you put it in the ground, and need to nurture it. It takes time and patience, but eventually the fruit will be there.

dont know if there is help with emails, but this website has a lot of info on presenting yourself in sales and sales methods.

Personally, If I were you I would sent a Introductory e-mail, just letting the buyers know who you are and what you represent....

BUT...THEN I would suggest creating a website that lists and shows good pictures of ALL the watches you represent...It may be possible that the company who hired you ALREADY has a website created...if so...put a LINK to that site on your e-mail.

If not, then I suggest taking the time to create one yourself...ppl want to see what they're buying before they commit..sooo just sending an e-mail won't do.

Alternatively, you could put pictures of the watches as attachments on the e-mail, BUT the file size would be LARGE, if you have a lot of watches you represent!

Do not bombard them with too much information by giving them a sales pitch on the email. Buyers have no time to read a lenghty email.

Begin your email by saying you represent a company who manufactures/ sells watches and would like to send them some information regarding your watches. Do not inflate the description of your watches unless they have some special qualities that no other watches have.

Read the book: Selling to Big Companies by Jill Konath. It is extremely informative and you will gain valuable insights and helpful hints.

The most important thing is to meet with them face to face if possible. People buy from people they like. Believe in yourself, your product, and close the sale. It is good to be prepared but don't spend too much time in the email. My experience is that is usually a blow off. Try to arrange a meeting. If your on the phone then get an appointment. If you have an appointment then close the sale. Good Luck!
