Why are manufacturing jobs so hard to find in america?

Why are manufacturing jobs so hard to find in america?

They have all moved to other countries where it is cheaper to operate

They're not. They're all over the place, and really easy to get. Anyone who says they've all moved overseas is looking for an excuse to sit at home and complain.

Because a lot of manufacturing jobs have been moved overseas...cheaper labor!

Because the mexicans take them all up

Because everything is going overseas due to the cheap price of labor! If you owned a new company why would you want to pay an American minimum wage when you could pay somebody overseas 3-4 cents to do the same job?

because almost all of them are outsourced to china.

america has a service economy, go to china for a manufacturing job

I wasn't aware that they were difficult to find.

Because they are all being shipped to Mexico:(

They are becoming harder to find simply because it is cheaper to outsource the work to Mexico or China...

Because they have all been outsourced to another country so the big corporations can save money on salaries and benefits.

Among other things, it is because of our ridiculous tax structure which penalizes companies who operate here in the states and rewards them for outsourcing jobs to other countries by having NO import duties.

Because companies are finding its cheaper labor and costs less to build things overseas...but the quality sucks! Buy American...boycott Walmart....where you been?

Because the companies would rather deal with Japan where they will not get screwed. An American company will screw an inventor in a minute. Invention is the mother of necessity.

It's because so many of these jobs have been moved to other countries where the labor is so much cheaper. Corporations only care about the bottom line, and the cheaper labor in turn makes their profits much higher. It's really terrible how these companies, which used to thrive with our labor, now totally ignore the needs of the American people. It's one of the contributing factors to the recession we're headed into.

Cheaper labor force in other countries. We gave all the big companies what they want, a free pass to take jobs away from the US and send them to a place that will pay a buck a hour and charge a retail price to us. God bless the lobbiests!

because all the illegal immigrants have taken them all

America is not a country for manufacturing goods. America like cheap products "made in China". And US citizens prefer to work as traders, bankers, or real-estate. May be this will change soon !

A lot of them have moved offshore. Of the ones that remain, many of them are union shops and the hiring practices may be more complex.

It also depends what level of job you want to find. If you are a manufacturing manager, it may be more difficult to find a job than if you are an assembler. If you have special skills (CNC operator, mil-spec soldering) you may find it easier than if you are unskilled.

Look for jobs at companies that have government contracts - they are required to have a certain percentage of their products manufactured in the US.

Good luck!
