If sales is the highest paid profession then....?


then why doesn't everyone do it?

Number 1: sales is not a "profession" and except for those that work on commission (and even many of THOSE), the pay is not all that great.

the trouble with sales is, one week you make lots and lots of money, the next week, you wont make a cent. Salespeople will always talk about their big weeks, bragging about how much they earn.

also, sales people are generally the least respected people around, despite all the talking up they do about how they control the customer, in the end, the customer has the power...and the sales person has bend over to close a sale.

also, not everyone has "the gift."

The ups and downs of sales profession usually makes people bi-polar.

Just remember, sales is incorporated in most professions. Dr's, lawyers, architects, even the gardener... all have to sell themselves to obtain clients.

well, it is not..the Avon lady does not get that much for example..............also,,,,
it is hard to get people to buy intangables..............

There is one reason and only one reason why Sales People exist: They overcome objections. If we didn't have to overcome objections, we would be simply order takers. Not everyone has the ability to overcome objections.
