What small talk should I make at start of 2nd interview.. If any ??

I'm going for a 2nd interview this wednesday afternoon. Should I bother with small talk. It's for a sales rep job so I need to be friendly ... it's just that I tend to blab on a bit when I'm nervous. Does anyone have any ideas? The interviewer is traveling from interstate for the interview.

Hey..... I got the job!!!!!Thanks everybody for your answers...I took it all on board. No small talk to start but interview went for 1.5 hours and ended up chatting anyway. Thanks again.

Talk about what his expectations are......
Ask what he believes makes a good employee....
Ask what sets the top people apart.....
Ask what he believe the company culture is like....
Ask what he likes best about the company....
Ask why he works there......
Ask about the training.....
Ask him what additional questions he has for you....
Ask him what you need to clarify......
Ask him how long he has been with the company....
----------------------------

You really did not tell us anything about the job. Questions should be targeted to the position. As you were 'economical' with information this is not possible.

This is a sales job?

Use these words,

"What is my next step" - for the coward
"When do I start" - for the confident . . . .

Close the deal...

PS:
Sorry is the interviewer a female? :)

PPS this really did not answer your question. However, these questions will slowly reveal personal information about the person. If you ask follow up questions this will be a 90 minute interview which 'small talk' will present itself. I would suggest not planning small talk....

You should always keep the interview to a business discuss no small talk. A second interview may have another person involved from the company. You don't want to show your nervousness.
Understand a little about their company do some research talk about what they do and what they want you to do.

Good Luck

nothing to say don:t say a thing...my opinion
