I'm thinking of a possible career move into selling mobile homes...? |
Does one need a real estate license in Florida to do this? Also, is it lucrative commissions, any salary and benefits involved? I know that the real estate market for housing is not great right now, but is it better for manufatured homes??? Mobile homes are a completely viable option for people who work hard but dont make a ton of money...and in the area that I live in we haven't been hit by a hurricane in 26 years... and it was a cat 2. Plus the new mobile homes are sturdier. I live in a home, but have lots of family that live in mobile homes and love them... stop the judgement people! Lots of realtors are packing it up these days. Not something that would be the best of career choices at the moment. A mobile home dealer in Florida has to get a license to do so from the Department of Motor Vehicles. They are something that never appreciates, but depreciates like automobiles do. You need a realtors license ( which requires 72 hours of classroom time) and take and pass the real estate licensing testing to sell manufactured homes. Anyone who buys a mobile home in Florida is asking for trouble. A big hurricane comes along and the thing is torn up like a little piece of tinfoil. Honestly, is your career aspiration to sell cardboard box houses? And you're right, the real estate market sucks so I would look at something else to do, honestly. Whenever a hurricane comes along we see these idiots on TV that live in mobile homes complaining about losing everything.... "NO DUH......" you live in a freakin mobile home! Mobile homes are better for people who live in Northern States, for sure. I don't think that working for a company to sell those types of homes in Florida is worth while for you.. I would go to selling something that is a little bit more sturdy. I would think anything you could learn about modular/mobile homes would be a good move. I live in the midwest and modulars are covering the country side. Why not, they are cheaper, quicker, and just as good looking as a conventional home Hmm.. if you're looking into sales may I suggest you check out http://executivehomebody.com and read with an open mind. You might think twice about spending your money into a business where you won't be making very much money... life is too short. I can help if you have any qustions.. take care!! =) |
