Frustrated looking for jobs on the Internet?

I need a job badly. I apply for jobs on all the best resume sites. Monster, Career Builder, etc. Some of them are such a fit and I get so hopefull. But after filling out all the information on line and attaching my resume....its just hope and wait. Most of these are handled by the HR departments . How do I get through to get a personal interview. I do great in person.
MY resume has been professionally done, and I have several versions to work with different fields.
How can I get noticed? How can I get a job through here? Do they really work?
Many places that I go to in person send me away because they say you have to apply through the internet -Web site.

Make an effort? right. I am not sitting around doing nothing. I go out knocking on doors every week , had my resume professionally printed , look and present myself very well. The region I live in is one of the worst in the country for economic decline. Dont talk to me like I am not trying . I am not collecting any goverment funds!

I am really sorry that you are having a hard time getting a job. Have you asked people like family and friends to look over your resume? I know you said you had your resume professionally done but just maybe if you ask others to critique your resume you may find out if something needs changing. It just may need to be a tweaked some?.

Also when you are applying to companies, you may want to insert your resume in the body of your email instead of attaching it. Some companies will not open attachments because of viruses and such. Make sure that you are checking the ad or company's website to see if they meantion how they want a resume sent. You may probably already know this but I meantioning it because some people don't and will send resumes in the wrong format or way that a company asked.

You also meantioned being overqualified, the sad fact of the matter is companies do not like to hire overqualified people so you may want change your resume some and downplay some of your skills.

Depending on where you live and how many people are applying for the positions you are also applying for, sometimes you will hear from companies quickly and other times it can be a long wait. It can get discouraging applying but make sure to keep at it. Best of luck to you!

You are very welcome! I hope you get a job soon! Report It

How about just typing up a few resumes and putting on some decent clothes and GO OUT LOOKING FOR A JOB... it has worked for me for YEARS... it is a time honored way.... you can't do EVERYTHING on the Internet... sometimes you have to MAKE AN EFFORT

This time of year is especially hard. I would suggest going to a retailoe and applying. They are hiring now for the holidays. And if theres a certain poition in the company your interested ina dnhave the experience, express the interest and chances are you'll be accepted. Even if they dont accept your reqest, you'l have the experience of yet another position for applying for a job.

well.. sometime when u submit ur resume on any website for job so maybe he can ignore u bcoz they did not want to give this job for other person ! only they want to give this job to their relitives or friends who know them ! but if u r seriously searching for the job so its best for u to go here http://www.autocareerz.com/ i m doing job nd i found my job from this website nd i would like to say that this is very good website who's help me to make my career !
