Help with a few names.....?

Well, i've just decided i wanted to be a lawyer when i grow up. What are some excellent law books that i can read and what are some excellent law schools? thanks!

Honestly, you'll spend your degree doing that. I can't give you any names for US law because I'm British. If you decided to study in England: Glanville Williams, 'Learning the Law' provides a basic introduction. If not, try Amazon.com, it will give you reviews on each book and better advice than we ever could. I think it is better for you to read up on logic: simple and predicate. And economics. Learn to write by reading as much as you can.

Law schools? Try the league tables. Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, NY state, Princeton, Berkley are well known in the UK. There are many others as well. I'm doing an LLM at Harvard next year - should be fun! But I hear that there are better places for my specialty like Stanford.

Concentrate on school for the meantime: you won't get into law schools by learning loads of law beforehand. You get in with good results at school.

Why would you want to read law books? You'll do enough of that when you become a lawyer and it's not very exciting. And if you mean fictional novels about law, they aren't very accurate.
