If im pursuing a career in law...or psychology...?

what type of law offices would allow me time to be with my family? im interested in law and politics and even human rights ect ect but i do want to be close to my family. i also happen to be stationed in germany with my soon to be husband for a few years, so online college is the only way for a while... basically, my question is, is there an area in law where i can still accomplish things, but at the same time have time with my family?
also id like to know how psychology careers are. im interested in teaching and i am considering that.
if i started on the path to education, could i change my mind and go to law without wasting a year or two of my life?
lol im sorry my questions are all confusing, im just curious about all this and i need to make a decision. im a senior in high school and im going to be taking courses through the university of maryland online.

To become a lawyer first you have to obtain a bachelor鈥檚 degree, enter law school to obtain your Juris Doctor, pass the bar exam and be admitted to practice by the state or federal law, according to the case. This bachelor鈥檚 degree can be in any thing, if you have a tendency for psychology then that should be your mayor. You can take elective classes toward the theme of law, like criminal justice, environmental legislation, family law, etc.

It varies from state to state, but mostly if you want to practice clinical psychologist you must obtain a Doctors degree. If it is industrial psychology a master will suffice.

Both fields can come together practicing forensics psychology. These types of psychologist are experts testifying in court. They too charge a lot.

Any occupation will take much of your time. You will have to be very organized to have a life outside work. It is all possible. You might find a job as a lawyer were you could work at home and only go to the office or court when necessary (that is what my best friend does as a collection debt lawyer) Or you might get a job as a part time psychologist in a school or in a joined office with other psychologist or physiatrist (that is what my psychologist sister does). If you want complete control over your work our, become your own boss, you might open a legal office or a psychologist鈥檚 office.

Don鈥檛 worry you are still young, and as long as you are willing to work and overcome obstacles you will exceed any expectations.

Corporate law (meaning working in the legal department of a large corporation...not insurance defense in a private firm)

Basically stay away from any type of litigation, criminal law or labor & employment.
