By law dose my employer have to give me Manual Handing training? I have a hernia and don't know what to do? |
I was going to put it into the accedent book but dont know if I had the right? I am just worryed because of the time I will have to have off work that I cannot aford. Can someone help? yes before you even start your job you should have had a Health and Safety at work Induction, this would normally include all aspects of the safety on the premises,Manual Handling, COSHH, PPE, SAFE WORKING SYSTEMS, FIRE SAFETY/PROCEDURES ETC, NOISE AT WORK Please speak with an attorney first, a hernia is a very difficult matter particularly when lifting things. Most employers will get rid of you for having such because you can not effectively work. If you get hurt on the job and feel it might be worth seeing a lawyer you could get free surgery and paid while off from work. If your job entails any sort of lifting or handling then your employer should assess the task and provide adequate training in the correct way to perform the task. |
