In the state of Michigan!! Can you work some hours and still collect unemployment?

For instance this person I know had a job for at least 2 years but was not promised anymore raises so he took another job out of town and moved because it was better pay. anyhow this job ended up firing this person. He does now have another job but really less hours less than20 hours a week. Can he file for unemployment and draw even though he works at this other job after his waiting period for getting fired with unemployment is up??

you can always file and should...............................

every unemployment case is judged on it's individual merits.
since this person quit a job for another and was terminated and is now working the likely hood of receiving any benefits is not good.
Michigan does allow you to take a part-time job when you are already on unemployment but generally don't provide benefits to those who are working part-time due to the choices they made them-self.

file and find out if any benefits will be received, that is the only way to know for sure.

Yes, you can.
