I haven't been paid by an employer?

I recently did 2 days work and half a training day for a telemarketing company. I hated it and didn't go back on the third day. I never signed any contracts with them but there was a verbal arrangement that the pay was 拢7/hr + 拢10 for every successful call after the first 2. Does anybody know what rights I have since I didn't give them any notice (I did ring them on the morning I didn't show up to tell them I wasn't coming back) and never signed anything? Is there an organisation that can act on my behalf for me? I have contacted them but they are now ignoring me.

Lack of communication is what is happening, both you and them are both guilty.
Before you spend thousands on a legal battle, start from the beginning and make contact with this company.
My view is personal contact is the best to get instant results, first get an apointment by phone and go to the companys place in which you worked, be totally honest and tell them what has happened, speak to their employment Officer to whom you applied for the job in the first place.
I think you were wrong in not giving them notice, and I can understand them being awquard as you were awquard with them. On the other hand they had not paid you for your work either.
OK two wrongs don't make a right, so both of you will have to work this thing out together.
If nothing happens within the timescale agreed, then put into writing your complaint be as detailed as possible, give them 14 days from the date received to make a satisfactory reply. If the date goes on and no reply is made send them another letter stating you will be seeing a Solicitor.

Advocation costs money, Solicitors charge about 拢175 per hour with expences thrown in, so unless you have a concrete case or lotts of money to gamble it is better to negotiate first or if you do battle and lose you end up not only paying your own solicitors costs, but that of the other side too, and as they may be a large company with their honour to protect, they may have the best barristers that money can buy.

Whilst they are sorting out the problem find out alternative ways which are just as affective but avoids legal confrontation of which you could loose the day, the other side could argue that you deserted your post and that is why they refused to pay you.

Have a friendly word with your local Job Centre and they may be able to help, and also help you into a more suitable job at the same time.
Citizens Advice is another area to try, but you have to be prepared to spend a few hours on this, as this is a popular service as it is free.
You can get half an hour free with a solicitor, but remember what I said before about the costs thereafter
Best of luck
