Young people amd work Under 18? |
can you please tell me what the hours is legal for an under 18 yr old to be working, this girl's shift is between 11-4 and (5 Hours) she is asked to stay later to clean up! she does get a 1/2 hour break though but then she is expected to stay a half hour extra to clean up. is this right under 18 anybody. thanks The only restrictions are on workers under 16. 3 hours per day on school days, 18 hours per week on school weeks. Restrictions on hours for minors are a matter of state law, so it depends on where you live and how old she is. From what you say though it's probably legal almost everywhere. |
