Is it illegal; if you dont ashow up at work? |
i work at best buy i quit my job 2 weeks ago and today is my last day of work.last night was truck day so i hurt my back again.beacuase of caryin heavy staff...any way i quit it and i wont see them any more. can i just dont go to work today. i dont wanna call You're not going to be arrested. No it's not illegal. If you were a cop, you might have a problem, but you're not. It is not "illegal" but don't expect to be paid for the day, and don't expect a good review from the company if you use them as a reference in a future job application. It is not a good idea to burn your bridges behind you. Unless you are a firefighter, then no. It's not illegal to just not show up, although it doesn't leave a very good impression and could affect you in the future if somebody calls them for a refence for you. i think employment is at will in most all states. my understanding is that either party can terminate with or without notice. those things that are illegal are crimes. Employment violations are torts. YOU can Grow up and face the music. |
