If you need to ask a question then you know you have not done a good job. I know because I worked as a manager for 35+ years and I saw people just like you doing just enough to look like you were doing something thinking all managers are idiots. Well guess what were not. As for me I would fire someone like you in a heart beat and not flinch, even on Christmas Eve, and I have. So why not work like your life depended on it, because it does, or you can just be a bum just getting by. Go do something that will do you some good and give you some pride. Go join the Marine Corps, which will straiten you out. They are not "sackin some 1" ,you are sackin yourself.

They are definitely entitled to do that, they or you can terminate your relationship with the company for *any* reason if you are in the trial period. Unfortunately it's very discouraging, but it's completely legal. Good luck, it happened to me once and it turned out there was a better job right around the corner, I'm sure the same will happen for you!!

Yes they can. The whole point of a trial or probationary period is to determine 1) if you can do the job, and 2) if you are a good fit for the job. Even if you are capable, you may not fit in well with other employees or with the corporate climate. A trial period benefits both you and the prospective employer.. It's a lot easier on everyone if a poor fit is identified before the employee becomes permanent staff.

Yea- I got fired becuase I worked with a girl who's boyfreind had been my boss at another job and had tried to sleep with me-. She knew I knew him. My sis-in-law worked with us and had worked with him before too and ran her mouth about him to the sis-in-law of his g/f who also happened to work with us about him and the way he is, including about his promiscuous ways. The g/f got wind and asked us about it one day- away from work and then ran her mouth and said I was telling everyone her business at work. The dumb heifer couldn't handle her b/f being a cheater. So my boss called me into the office about it. WTF? I got fired over something I didn't do and that took place at a completely diff job! Employers can be assholes!

Unfortunately they can fire you for no reason during your probation. That is why it is probation. You have to walk on eggshells.
