I quit my Job, adn then didn't get paid for my last week of work. Pls see detailed explanation below.?

Okay here is the story. I had this truly horrible job that I just disliked so much (people there were brutal). Anyways I worked all week (M-T) and then I left Friday morning, as I found out from people that she (the president) was talking all this stuff about me to other employees. Which is fine and not the reason I quit. I spoke with her on Monday and gave my resignation then. She was clearly pissed, but I stated I left on Friday since i was approached by other employees saying you slammed me in front of everyone. Needless to say I stated the many reasons why I left (not cause she was gossiping, I can deal with that).

Anyways I didn't get paid for those 4 days I worked. I was on salary not hourly.

My question is is it ILLEGAL FOR HER TO PAY NOT PAY ME. If I didn't give my 2 week snotice. I libve in Ontario Canada if that helps.

I want to know if I can have some sort of defense when I speak with her in regards to the non payment.

Also. I was only there for 3 months and I was under probation since I was new. I literraly quit my job at my 3 mnth mark.

you should be paid if you worked. Any paid time off issues. IE: did you take your whole years PTO in advance? Vac pay can be withheld w/o 2 weeks notice, but wages can't be touched

It's extremely illegal for her not to pay you. I'm no lawyer, though, so I can't offer you detailed advice. But everyone is entitled to be paid for the time they put in on the job, whether you are hourly or salary.

First, if you signed a contract, can you remember what was on the contract?? This has happened to me before- but it was only a day's worth of work and I had signed a contract to stay on for 6 months and left because the working conditions were unbelievable. Legally, you should be paid for your work unless this was agreed upon earlier. It's not like when you leave an apartment in the middle of the month and have to pay for the whole month. You worked those hours and deserve to be paid for them. Get someone else on your side to come and talk with her- preferably someone who knows something about the law and can sound professional. If she's a bully, then she'll probably lose a lot of confidence around other people who aren't under her influence. The reason why you're supposed to give 2 weeks is to enable your employer to find someone to fill your position- and for no other reason. You deserve your money!!! Good luck- sue her butt for the money if she doesn't pay up!

legally she has no right to hold your pay back. Contact your human resources department and explain the situation. You should've done this first before. Maybe you would've been placed in another position. Contact your H.R Dept before you go to a lawyer.

regardless the situation, two things remain.you left because you wane to live,you lost unemployment benefits .second is that you must get paid for the last weak,they lick it or not.you may have to Wait up 3 Weeks but not Moore than 30 days,
