TSA background checks?

The background check forms asked about past drug and alcohol use. In 2003 I smoked weed a few times, and I put that down.

Will this keep me from getting the job?

It could potentially lead to you not getting the job, but everything from your application, as well as the applications of others competing for the position, will be evaluated.

It's important to note that the federal government will perform a background check on you and possibly call your references. Some federal agencies go beyond the references the applicant provides and try to find past associates and co-workers. If one of these people mentioned that you had used drugs in the past, but you lied about it on the application, you could lose the job, be barred from federal employment, be fined, or imprisoned.
