Have u ever lied about what qualifications you have when applying for a job?

did u get away with it?

yeah, I've lied for a job.
I worked as a word processor.
I said I could type 65 words a minute.
But I can only type about 50, And I got too much at a time and quit.

Nope. I guess that i'd look silly when it became apparent that i'd have no idea what i was on about.

never any bare-faced lies. maybe a bit of exaggeration, but i think everyone does it some extent.
just remember, if they find out you lied on your application they'll probably fire you on the spot.

Hmmmmm, a very long time ago i said i achieved an AA grade in my AVCE ICT course when i actually aquired a BC - i am a very advanced computer user but never really applied myself in college as it wasnt the environmen i wanted to work in.

No, they would find out too quickly that I had lied.

Yes and yes but everyone embelishes their CV a little I think

No. I have a guilty conscience over nothing. I don't think I could ever really do something wrong and play it off confidently.

It is waste of time, as now days, you have to provide evidence of your qualifications.

my husband has, he did get away with it, but didnt like the job anyway, stick to what you know!
Always the best option.

No, I haven't. But I have come across people who did and it is amazing how the truth caught up with them eventually and they lost their jobs. It is, in fact, a criminal offence to lie about your qualifications in order to secure employment and your employers might even report the matter to the police with a view to your being prosecuted under the Theft Act for obtaining pecuniary advantage by deception.
