Why does the Law society regulate the way legal practices operate ?

Because so much of what a law firm does is confidential and work for clients, they need a way to ensure that clients get proper representation without creating a poor(er) image of the legal industry.

Contrary to popular belief, most lawyers are NOT all slime. In fact, many of them went into the legal field to help people. But, because there are so many lines that can be crossed between helping one person and harming another, rules and regulations have been necessarily created.

Lawyers are all dishonest by nature. Possibly dishonest by definition, thinking about it....
