Does ethnicity affect your chances of getting job as lawyer?

i am mexican, will it affect my chances of getting job as lawyer in the future by any way

i can speak fluent spanich too, hope that helps, but when i see lawyers in tv they are all white

At some firms, i.e. the most white shoe of firms, yes it will play a role. unfortunately, but that's just the way the world works. Having said that, most firms will still hire the most qualified people that are available, so study hard and you'll do fine.

No, unless they're not racist.

Yes, your race affects every interaction. Whether that's positive or negative is mostly up to you. Study hard, get good grades.

It shouldn't.

But I will say that it may. There are some that won;t hire you becauise you are mexican, there are others that will hire you over someone else because you are a mexican.

My first inclination is to say no. However, everyone's experience in this country is different and not all situations are similar.

As a bilingual lawyer who is Mexican, law firms should be seeking you because of the unique skill sets you bring, both language and cultural, to their firm.

Try working in civil service, city, state or country, where your chances of being recruited and hired are based on a transparent process where your ethnicity or race is of no consequence to being selected.

Good luck.
