Do anyone know any lawyers that would take a termination from employment case probono.?

I am a 48 year old grand mother of four. Iv'e worked at an animal shelter for 1 1/2 years. I got terminated from my job because a co-worker assumed I was looking through her locker because she left it opened and I was the only one in the locker room at that time. She told me that even though she didn't see me go through her things, that by me being the only one in the locker room and was near her locker, thats why she think I went through her things. At the hearing before I got terminated, she mentioned that nothing was taken, only things was out of placed. They fired me with attempt to theft. I was misrepresented by my union due to my co-worker being related to them. My termination were based on hearsay. I believe my disissal was unjustified. I am outraged, and appalled by the whole ordeal. Further, I intend to file more official complaints.

Two ideas came through my head when I saw your top question.

You could could call a local law firms & ask if there is any interns who are willing to take your case with supervision of head lawyer. (this idea came from that movie legally blonde)

I don't know what state your from, but I would check out your state website & see if the state can provide you with lawyer.

The ACLU?

If you are a member of Prepaid Legal ,they will help you. If you are interested in this, email me & I'll tell you more .

u should talk to ur lawyer i mean i understand how u feel cuz i got fired for being deaf it hurts i know..... but ITS HER FAULT FOR NOT LOCKING HER LOCKERS SO ITS HER LOSS! u should go talk to a lawyer good luck

Go to the civil rights dept and file a claim and if it's good enough they will take it and it won't cost you nothing.

You can make a complaint to the EEOC and they will either investigate themselves ( frankly unlikely ) or, after 30 days or so, give you the formal ability to pursue the matter with your own lawyer. Some of the larger labor law firms take some cases pro bono, usually if there is some principle involved. You could try Seyfarth Shaw as one and ask if they can refer you to others.

Have you tried ABLE?
