Can a person with a criminal record practice "X-Ray Tech."? |
Where can I find a professional answer to this question,& others like it ? I think it all depends on your training as an x-ray technician at an accredited school and how your potential employer feels about the record. To work for a hospital you have to pass a background check. One of the questions is "have you ever been convicted of a felony" answer it truthfully to the best of your knowledge. I read that the criminal record is checked but may possibly not disqualify you from a job. Congratulations on trying to become an xray tech that is definitely a move in the right direction. I think it depends on the hospital/clinic where you plan to work and the nature of the offense, and how long ago it happened. The hospital that I work at will hire felons, as long as it has nothing to do with a dishonest crime such as robbery, violence, a sexual crime...etc. But say you had a felony DUI, or maybe even a drug charge, they would consider that. It just depends on the policies of the place you plan to work at. Good luck :) Contact the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Ethics Department: (651) 687-0048 ext. 580. |
