LEGAL QUESTION - My ex-employer has just paid me 1 months wages!?

My work this year began on Sept 24th, training for the new job. I completed the training with flying colours, and on Oct 22nd, while settling into my new role, I felt some type of flu-bug was soon to take its toll. However, after mentioning this fact to both of my team coaches and also my trainer, I did manage to hold out the shift until we finished that day.
Next day, when I woke for work, I felt totally ill and could barely speak. I rang in sick and eventually managed to make myself clear to a 'stand-in' admin person. My message was that I was ill and probably would not make it the rest of the week, and to report this fact to my supervisors.
A few days later, and after recovery, I called in to make them aware of my return, only to be told I was no longer needed! I was given a week pay in lieu of notice. But last week my bank was credited with another month - 拢800+ Net. Just wondering if they can claim this back, but it was a company error and it may even happen next month, hoping!

It sounds as if you were normally getting paid by the month, and your regular paycheck kicked in.

Here is what I would do: Spend what you were SUPPOSED to get paid. Put the rest in savings. If they haven't said anything in 6 months, then I seriously doubt if you ever will.

Here is some advice:

NEVER call in sick IN ADVANCE unless you are having surgery. That just 'screams' that you are going to milk the sick time for all it's worth.

I am a very sickly person, I get sick alot. Other than being in the hospital, when I worked for someone else, I have NEVER in my life missed more than 2 days of work.

You can't always go to work and feel 100%. If I missed showing up every time I didn't feel 100%, I would spend 1/2 the year in bed.

If you are sick, sure stay home and call in, but you always say that you will call again tomorrow if you are still sick. IF you feel better the next day, then you obviously go back to work.

The only time you can say you are taking a few days off, is if you have a doctors note to BACK IT UP.

Do pre-paid legal its great they will anwer your question and they will help you in a kind of problem you can get a lawyer 24 hours a day and its cheap its great if you want a number email me
