Terminated from job.? |
All, This is a real important question and i really hope that you can answer it. yep! Yes, Curly, they absolutely can. Yeah they can fire you. Yes. Sorry. It's legal and most employers would do the same. Unless stated otherwise, or you signed some sort of contract, most jobs are considered "at-will employment". That means that the employee can terminate employment for good reason, bad reason, or no reason at all. But it also means that you can leave, strike or stop working as well. Yes, they are allowed to do that. If it is a right to work state that allows them to fire you at will and you to quit at will. However, that does not preclude you from filing for unemployment unless there was misconduct involved with your termination. Having the police pick you up can constitute misconduct in some cases depending on how its viewed. If you have a union at your job no they cannot, If you don't have union representation yes they can. They could fire you even if the police HADN'T come to your workplace and picked you up for questioning. So yes, it's legal. |
