I am looking for a good general practitioner (doctor) in the Kansas City area, any recommendations? |
I live in north Johnson County, but would travel for a good doctor. I'm fairly healthy and just need to know of someone that I can get in to see when I am sick (within 24-48 hours). I have always had HMO healthcare and I'm not sure how to go about picking a doctor now that I have more choices. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they seem to cover almost everyone. I have gone to Leawood Family Care at 113th and Nall for a couple of years now since I got new health insurance. My mom and sister go there too. I've probably seen 4 doctors there and they are all really nice. I just starting seeing one in particular, Dr. Mary Ann Campbell, and she seems great so far. Also, there's a Dr. Cristafano who is great too. I can't remember the others, but I think that whole practice is awesome. There are many doctors. The place is very nice (I was surprised at how nice and inviting the waiting room was - not like any doctor's office I had been in!!!). ALSO, they have an walk -in/urgent care section (when you go in the front door, go left for appointments or go right for walk-in/urgent care). I think that is very helpful. All of the same doctors that work in the appointment section work the walk-in/urgent section as well. I really like this place if you can't tell. :) Hope this helps! I have a heart condition that has required 3 open heart surgeries and I found an awesome family doctor that is capable of dealing with all of my health issues and is very compassionate, it is Dr. David Galbreath at St. Lukes Northland. Report It Dr Carla Ball in the Northland off Englewood is great she listens and does through work. Dr. Stephanie Haupt, Sorry I forget the clinic name. It is off North Oak Trafficway. Dr Perryman @ St. Lukes Internal medicine is one of the best in town.. Anyone in that practice will be good. They are Blue Cross and have enough staff to be available for emergencies. I go to Leawood Family Care, also. I know they take BCBS and they have a walk-in urgent care clinic 7 days a week if needed. My family has used Dr Mingle for about 8 yrs and am very happy with his advice and help - the office he is part of is better than previous experience. he is in Johnson county, ks. |
