How difficult is it to get a not for profit-tax exempt status ? It isn't that hard. You can download the forms but it will depend on the projected income of your organization for the filing fee costs. $300 for if your going to make under $100,000 I think, I'm not definate about that, and $700 or $750 if it is more. An accountant can help you or you can fill out the forms by yourself but you have to have bylaws written and my understanding is that you can not have a one person not for profit. Forms can be found under gov. website. should be able to search for that easily enough. |
