Think Ur outta luck! U may have to wait till U can go back to your bank for cash... Starter checks are not the same as regular checks is the major problem...

Having worked in retail for many years, I highly doubt that you will find any retail stores grocery and otherwise that will accept starter checks. Starter checks do not give the retailer a secure feeling as they do not generally show established credit. I have also worked in retail security, and the highest incidences of checks which are not good are either "stolen and/or starter." You can go to your bank and ask for your checks to be numbered higher than the starter numbers when they are produced for your account, for example at 500, instead of 001. If you are an established customer, and you have good credit with their establishment, they may be able to do that for you. Good luck.

Most businesses that take checks have a rule not to accept checks numbered 500 or less, so number your checks something like 987, 988,989 or 756,757, 758 and so on. When they ask you about it, say "I am having a new batch of checks printed", which is a true statement. This worked for me 2 different times. Also, when you order your first batch of checks, order them with the starting number 1001 and then you won't have problems with them either.

I recommend withdrawing the cash you need as you need it until you recieve your printed checks in the mail. If you need to pay bills with the starter checks I have had luck with placing a return address label on the check, where your name and address would be on printed checks.
