In KC you have to be 18 to use a register.

You can be any age over 14 to work at any establishment... If they need you they'll hire you.

the answer is 16- 18 they usually hire people 18 due to experience and ability to stay for closing.

And no you do not have to be 17 to work a cash register.

And some footlockers will hire young employees for the summer but towards the start of school you really wont recieve many hours.
