Question regarding tax and part-time work.?

Ugh, this is really bad, but anyway...
I lied on my resume syaing that I had worked before when I actually hadn't. Anyway, I got a job and the manager told me to bring in my P45 form. Trouble is I don't have one!

If I tell her that it was a casual job before and I got paid from the till, so I didn't get a form what will happen? Will revenue hunt me down and have me for fraud?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I could do?

nothing to worry about, just say you havent been given a P45 and ask your employer for a form P46, complete your section about this job being you only current job etc.., they will send it off and within a few weeks they will issue you with a standard tax code of 522L.

this does mean tho that you could be paying more tax until the code comes through. but dont worry about this as you will get it back once your employer applies you correct code and you will get it back in your next payday on the new code.

Don't panic. Tell your current employer that you do not have a P45 and complete a P46 instead.
You can get a P46 form using this link:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/p46.pdf

Good luck in your new job

Gismo, If you are in the Republic of Ireland, you should check out the Revenue guide on "Your First Job" at http://www.revenue.ie/services/ind_work1... It's slightly different to the other advice given here, which relate to the UK.

Make sure you get all your Tax Credits. See the main ones available at http://www.tax123.ie/ireland_tax_refund

and don't worry about Revenue hunting you down.
