Trailing Stop Stock sell?

Is there a way to automatically issue a trailing stop after the price reaces a certain price, or some sort of trade that accomplishes the same thing. For example I buy a stock at 9$ / share. I want to sell it once it goes over $10 / share, but sometimes it will go through $10, and keep rising. I can't stay online all the time waiting for it to hit $10, and then issue a trailing stop so I usually just enter a limit at 10$. However I have watched a stock climb after my limit order is already executed.

yes, it is possible, in optionsxpress. this is call activate at certain price. when the price reach a certain level, the trailing stop will be activated

There is no way that I know of to automatically enter an order when a stock reaches a certain price. If such a process exists, it would be peculiar to a particular broker.

Why not just enter the trailing stop when you place the order. Then as long as the stock is going up, you keep making money. It will also protect you from excessive losses if the stock goes down.

You can monitor the stock at your convenience and adjust the trail if you want to.
