Stock Market: Do stop/loss orders cost anything if they aren't filled?


Example situation: You buy a stock at $25, place your stop with the broker at $22, but it continues to go up. Does it cost anything since it was not filled?

No , Only orders that have been filled are charged commision. Most brokers dont let you cancel orders if the selling price gets to close to your stop order
