Stocks and shares ISAs? Can I manage my own? |
Myself and my wife both have about 25K in cash ISAs. I believe it is now possible to transfer these into a Stocks and shares ISA. Is there any company that will accept these ISAs into a stocks and shares ISA, then allow me to do my own buying and selling of shares, obviously charging me for the deals and administration of the portfolio. I used to be able to do this when it was PEPs with a company called Charles Schwab, but I believe they no longer operate this in the UK. Thanks for any help. Most UK stockbrokers will allow you to do this. You need an execution only ISA account. I would, instead, make it an advisory account. You can then ask the broker for advice(but you don't have to take it, you can still self-select) The cost is about 1.25% per annum on the portfolio value and if you are trading regularly you might/should get the commission down to 1% or below with concessionary 'closing' commission. |
