Where can I find information on stock broker ratings?

Basically I'm new to the stock market and Would like to find a website that has current information on stock brokers out there so that I could deal with the best. I'm looking for a well known agency primarily. Thank you for your time and patience.

I read this many times in many places each year:
http://barrons.com

In the left box type "broker ratings".
THEN click on the red triangle to the right of that box.

They are listed in the various articles.

Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

VTY,
Ron Berue

maybe try www.nystockexc.com

there is no such thing as stock broker ratings, nor for broker/dealer ratings

You can pick any major broker/dealer from the yellow pages
or you can use some of the popular discount B/Ds

Scottrade; E-Trade; Schwab;

Are you asking for ratings on stock brokers (individuals) or brokerage agencies like Smith Barney, Merrill Lynch, Etrade, etc? If the companies, go to the library and check back a years worth of issues (as I can't remember which month is was) of Money, Smart Money or Kiplingers Personal Finance magazines. They rate the agencies.
To check disciplinary records of individual brokers, call the National Association of Securities Dealers at 1-800-289-9999.
