What international fund is a good one?

If you guys going to choose a region to buy stock where you would go with?
Europe, Asia, Japan, Latin America,...etc. Where?

Franklin Templeton Russia & Eastern Europe Fund (TRF)
iShares MSCI Brazil Index (EWZ)
Matthews India Fund (MINDX)
Matthews China (MCHFX)
Templeton Emerging Markets (EMF)
iShares MSCI Canada (EWC)

Russia as a play on nickel and oil. Have had a lot of success trading Russian oil interests. I would look for Russian funds that have exposure to Gazprom or Lukoil. Norilsk Nickel is a great business, too. Russia and Eastern European funds are a play on the Euro as well.

Next, I would look into India specifically in the banking sector. The micro-lending thing going on is revolutionizing India's economy. Any funds that have ICICI or HDFC banks will probably do pretty well. The biggest bank there, ICICI is only worth $23 billion. Tremendous growth prospects in a country with a billion people. There is an excellent buying opportunity in Matthews India fund currently.

Mexico is a good place to invest as well with the peso getting stronger. There are some Mexican funds with Wal-Mart de Mexico and Cemex.

China can be good too, but there is a lot of hype surrounding China which means it is traded frequently and more volatile.

Hope this helped.

I'd stick with a broad based International Fund. I believe the growth is in foreign counties. Let the experts pick the "where".

Dodge & Cox International Fund: DODFX
Five year annual return: 26.78%
Three year annual return: 16.42%
Very low expenses & no load (no commision charge).
