Who are called captive investors ?


Who are called captive investors ?

They are investors who have signed an agreement not to sell their shares for a defined period of time.

For example, when a company goes public the large stock holders might agree not to sell any stock for 18 months in order to give the market confidence that the price will not tank immediaitely after the IPO.
