Online Broker Commission?

This is a follow-up on my previous question about investing $1,000. Lets say I buy 6 or 7 shares in one transaction, do I pay just comission on one trade, or do I pay it 6 or 7 times over. I plan on usng Etrade.

its only one trade. tb

You only pay for the shares you purchase, once...not 6 or seven times, assuming you sell all the shares at the same time. If you sell them individually you will pay 6 or 7 times.

To echo the other comments, basically when an order is executed you pay that commission once. For example, if the trade commission is $10 you pay that same $10 fee for buying 1000 or 1 shares.

Depending on the specific order there may or may not be additional fees and/or regulations. More complicated orders like short selling, buying on margin, some stop-loss order variances, etc. may have additional fees.
