Thoughts on EXM? |
I was thinking of picking up a shipper, and I have been leaning toward EXM, but there is one thing that concerns me and that is the age of their fleet. Does anyone have any thoughts on the shipping sector? I like EXM, but also Diana (DSX) and Global too. The single most important thing is the day-rate for each ship, multiplied by the length of the contract they can tie it up for. The Baltic dry shipping rates can be found many places with a google search (I hesitate to endorse any one site) for a rough idea of current contracts. Panamax vessels coming off-lease go for about $80-90k/day right now. And, particularly a good sign, there is not much new tonnage coming on-line for '08! Tankers appear to be a good buy here. |
