What do i need to become an investment banker? (education wise)? Now you need to have a strong background in Finance (Normally a BS) and most big banks Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Lehman, UBS require a Masters as well in Finance. Beyond that you need some excellent internships at either a bank like the ones mentioned above, hedge fund, or some private equity firm to gain experience. Also you need to be very smart, ready to work 90 hours a week every week if you you want the pay check. A degree in finance or accounting. An MBA wouldnt hurt. You'll want a BS and a Masters in something financial. As a totally random recommendation I go to the London School of Economics, and the masters students there are heavily recruited by investment banks. Good luck. |
