What are the advantages of traditional investment bank over a Universal Bank? |
Do traditional banks like bear stearns have any advantage over universal banks like Bank of America depends who you are. If you are an investor, there is more earnings power, but also more earnings volatility. BOA has more stable businesses, which shields them from times of volatility, but can't grow their earnings as fast. tb |
