What would you say has been your best investment ever!?

What would you say has been your best investment ever!?

Buying my house: apart from the rent it has saved over the years it also has more than doubled in value.

I could have said: my wife, but as I am not planning in selling her anytime soon, that doesn't really count :)

My girlfriend

My Flat - I bought it 6 yrs ago, everyone thought I was nuts because of the price I paid (If I'd have bought it at the market rates 2 yrs ago I would have been).

education

my wife and daughter.

my two businesses

My Wife, without doubt.
We are now both retired, after a long and happy working life, mostly together. Her ability to manage money, keep a home going while still working full time, bring up a Daughter and ensure we have a secure financial future.

Investments can go up or down, unless you invest wisely. I did.

My first ever PC in 1996. It has made me quite wealthy

My house, is worth over three times what I paid in less than ten years.

I bought a book on ebay for 拢12 looked on amazon and it was selling for 拢450. thats a good mark up

obviously the house was the best but for % mark up it was the book

vibrator for the girlfriend

my best investment would have to be the first 5% I put into my employeers 401K plan. The reason being that they match that 5%, so I get a guaranteed immeadiate 100% return on my investment. It's not the most I've ever invested, but it is certainly the best return I've ever gotten.

yeah investing on an online venture like http://www.airlinetraveltogoa.com and http://www.aircrafteasy.com hardly my investments are less than $1000.

Buying $10000 worth of Apple stock back in early June of '03. Do the math. Last I checked Apple was trading at 186.90. Lets see back in '03 I paid 8.63 per share. That works out to somewhere around $216,000. I would say that's my best investment.

Not very sexy, but I always remember buying some Coventry PIBs for a client over ten years ago. They were just over par and the coupon was about 12.5%. I am not sure what they are now, probably about 拢185% and paying the client 12% every year (IN PERPUITY)

My house has quadrupled in value...and is paid off early.

By the way...Anyone who was really holding $216,000 in Apple stock since 2003 would know about the 2-for-1 split in 2005...meaning they'd know it was worth $432,000.
