How do I become a stock broker? |
I am considering a career in stock broking and was wondering what is the necessary requirements for becoming one other than the series 67 exam. I am 18 years old and a freshman in college. Basically you need good personal skills and a good work ethic. Many brokers work long hours their first two years or so in the business until they establish a good client base to give them referals. First finish your degree. You will need it for most brokerage firms. Then go talk to them. try Edward Jones. I worked for them once. They will hire you, sponsor you for the series seven which is what you need to sell stocks. I think the sixty seven is the state exam. Jones will do something to help support you for a few months while you get some business. They are brutal if you don't sell anything. The process weeds out the ones that cant sell. Go for it. It is a sales job. A good one. |
