Frankly, I wouldn't want to own either one. There are much better companies that you can put your money into.

However, if you only want to choose one to sell, I'd pick IMH. It's now a penny stock and has been notified by the New York Stock Exchange that it no longer meets their listing requirements. If it is delisted, it will probably end up on the "Pink Sheets" where it could be a lot tougher to sell.

Have you considered selling both of the losers? I have never been a fan of REITs, because very few make money for the invester (the managers of the REITs are the ones that make the money and could care less about the investors). It just does not make sense to hold on to a bad investment.

Who got you in that mess? Ouch.

Since July, Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. (IMH) has been on my BK list. If you need a write off, this company is done in my view.

FRIEDMAN BILLINGS (NYSE:FBR) is a couple bucks. Not a stellar stock by any means, but not as bad off as IMH. If you need to dump only one, I'd dump IMH.

REITs and anything financial or real estate tied is just not the place to be for the next couple years or more.

I would sell IMH. Here is info on each:
