Can i trade with 2 brokers at the same time?

i had a tradeking account but i had to switch to ameritrade so i can buy stocks under $2 without paying the extra .01 per share

& i dont want to be labeled a daytrader so im thinking i should keep the 2 accounts so i can trade up to 6x's in 5days if i want!!!

are there any tax reasons why i cant trade with more than one broker?
