Market caps are a way of categorizing the size of a company. Market cap is generally shares outstanding X price of shares. There are no specific rules as to what makes a small cap, vs mid cap, vs large cap, but I use $2bn and in is a small cap, $20bn and up is a large cap and everything in between is a mid cap.
