I'm 16 and I'm looking to buy a car within the next 10 months. Can I take out my own insurance policy? |
My parents and I don't talk (we are on very bad terms, court deals and all) and my sister doesn't want to make her insurance go up by putting me on hers. Can I take my own insurance policy out for myself and pay for it like normal? If so, how? Call some local insurance agents and ask. Some companies may not be willing to write a policy for minors. yes but its gonna cost more itscheaper to under your parents policy its up to you they gonna rate you as a risk because your long. f you want to purcahse your own vehicle and insurance, I hope that you ahve a pretty good job to take care of the insurance and maintenance. If you get insurance through your parents, it would be alot cheaper for you. If you have taken a drivers educational class, then indurance would be even more sheaper and affordable for you. Think about it!! At 16, it's going to be very very hard. Insurance is very expensive because minors are high risk(inexperienced drivers, less likely to pay attention, wanting to drive fast, etc etc) and since you have no credit, most will deny you automatically the minute they find out you are on your own. A 16 year old can hardly have a good paying job without a GED or HS diploma. |
